Stillwater Boat Rentals > Rental Contract

Thank you for choosing Stillwater Boat Club and Rentals. To ensure a smooth and pleasurable day, we ask that you carefully read and understand the following policies before you take out a rental boat. These policies were made to help ensure your safety and to help make your rental experiences fun and easy. We hope you enjoy your day on the beautiful St. Croix River!

  • There is a $150.00 damage deposit authorized to your credit card in addition to the rental fees. If there are no damages inflicted to the boat and all fuel charges are paid, the deposit or balance of deposit after fees are paid, will be released.
  • You must bring your valid picture driver’s license and the credit card that your rental was charged to on the day of your rental. If these two items are not present, we cannot send the rental out or make any amends to the credit card charge. This is done for your identity theft protection.
  • To make the most of your rental day we ask that you arrive at the Stillwater Gas Dock approximately 20-30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time so that you can load your boat and get operating instructions from the Gas Dock crew as well as learn some of the idiosyncrasies of the river.
  • If you arrive late for your reservation, the boat will still have to be returned to the Gas Dock at the time that your reservation was made for when you booked the boat.
  • BE AWARE THERE ARE LATE FEES IMPOSED FOR BOATS RETURNED AFTER THEIR SCHEDULED TIME. If the boat is returned 15 minutes late, there is a $50.00 late fee imposed, if you are 16 minutes to 1 (one) hour late, or more, there is 4 hour charge (one half day rental fee) imposed.
  • Should the boat break down through no fault of your own, any late fees will be waived. However, if the boat is damaged or engine problems arise due to operator error, the late fees will be applied, as well as any fees owed for towing the boat back to the dock. You will also be responsible for paying for any damages to the boat. All funds for damages/late fees are due on the same day as the rental.
  • We charge the rental fees to your credit card the same day as the reservation is made.
  • Bad Weather? If you lose your entire rental day to rain, you may get a “rain check” for which you have 30 days to call us and re-book your boat. If you lose part of the rental due to rain/bad weather, you can re-book down to 2 hours. No further refund is permitted for less than 2 hours. Ask rental agent for late season rain-out policies. Rain out/bad weather rain checks are given at the sole discretion of the management of Stillwater Boat Club and Rentals/Marine Services, Inc.
  • We ask that you have a cell phone number registered with us in case of inclement weather. If a storm approaches we will make every effort to contact you via your cell phone and advise you to either seek shelter or return to the dock if you are in the vicinity.
  • The rental boat is full of fuel when you take off from the dock. When you return the boat we will “top off” the tank and you only pay for the fuel that you use. Fueling boats with “land” gas is prohibited.
  • Please be advised that there is a 20-30 minute check-in procedure that all rental customers must go through when returning the boats.
  • We provide all PFD (Personal Floatation Device) equipment. All of our PFDs are certified inspected each year by the Washington County Water Patrol.
  • We DO NOT allow the following:
    • No Kegs of Alcohol or Other Keg Beverages are allowed on board our boats or to be transported
